It was so sad to say that we were going home. I don't know we were all happy to be able to go home and
take showers but so sad because we knew that this experience was going to close and we wouldn't be able to hang out like we
did up there, waking up at 7 am and heading straight for the camp fire because it was so cold and then staying there until
you could move and feel yourself move. The drive was 8 and a 1/2 hours long so that was boring and long, but hey when
we all got back to church it was all so sad cause we had to depart and go our separate ways...

Lylle's Fork
Oh man, Lylle's fork was awesome, the water was clear and beautiful and I just love that place. I got
to talk with Erik some more and we went out exploring for a little bit after someone really upset me and then I fell into
the river and as much as I hated to admit it the only person that could get me out was Erik, so yea I had to ask for help.
The water only looked ankle deep and I was on a steep rock and he's all like "Grace, you need help?" So I looked at him and
said no then told him that I knew I was going to regret that, then he asked again and again I said no, and as soon as I said
no my foot slipped and in I went. Neck deep freezing cold water in 3 layers of clothes. The rocks all around were
covered in algea so I couldn't get out so yeah, that's when I actually had to ask for help. But hey, I got to go swimming
when I didn't expect to go at all. That was cool. Then we headed back, and there I am shivering more than ever
because the girls wanted the a/c on when I was freezing cold and then of course because I make no sense at all I went and
bought a huge cup of ice cream cause it sounded good...yea you can bet I was shiverring more than ever now. After that
I went and played football with some of the kids to help warm up. I went chasing after Jerrek and while I was chasing
him downhill my bad ankle gave out and I went skidding across the gravel, and cut up my hand somewhat good...well I think
I washed it out good enough, but ya never can tell.

Tonia Lake...THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I luved the lake so much. It was like a beach, but
it was gorgeous and chilly. I got a nice a little tan there and talked with Erik and Angela a little bit and got to
know each of them a little bit better. That was awesome. Oh and I got to learn how to play chess too, that
was fun too. Now I'm all craving to play the game that I'm absolutly horrible at...You can make two moves and usually
beat me so yea it's sad...lol...
August 3rd 2004
Today we visited the classic Soda Springs...it's one of those things that people talk too much about so when
you get there it's kind of a let down. So we hung out there and had lunch there and that was pretty, I'd never been
actually where we had lunch and that was relaxin so I liked that. Then some of the people I went with had rock skipping
contests and walked across the river and all that cool stuff. I was just fine where I was though cause knowing me when
there's a river around then I usually fall into it...and after I fell into it once last year I don't need to fall into it
again...

I had some good sleep last night and I shared a tent with a girl named Michelle (no not my bro's gf...a different
one), Renee, and Talia...it was fun we barely talked before going to sleep so it was easy to fall asleep. We had eggs
and bacon and oatmeal for breakfast this morning and that was cool and then we packed our lunches and a group went to Lambert
Dome and another group went to the Cascades. I was all for the Cascades, it was so beautiful there and it's a pretty
simple hike, so it was all good. I had a little quiet time there and sat and talked with some of the leaders for a bit.
Then we came back and found that the people who went to Lambert took the extremely hard route, they climed up the face instead
of taking the back trail...LOL...Again the whole group hung out and then we went to bed pretty early.
August 1st 2004
Man o man we had to wake up so early this morning...Joe wouldn't let me get to sleep till around 1:30 or 2:30
in the morning and I had to wake up at 3:00 to get ready and to be at church at 4:00 a.m. So yeah, it was an early start,
well then the leaders didn't get there until about 5:00 a.m. so that was not cool having all the high schoolers freez in the
morning cause the leaders weren't there, then aroudn 6 a.m. we actually got in the vehicles and prolly around 6:15 we left
church...it was a looong time before we stopped for a rest. We drove all the way up to Bishop and then we had lunch at Carl's
Junior and then left for Yosemite. It was nice to get out of the desert and to see the greenery that surrounds you up
there. When we arrived it was about 5 or 6 in the evening and still brighter than ever so we got to set up camp and
have dinner and hang out a little bit before having to go to bed. I went to bed prolly around 10:00 b/c there it seems
a lot later at night and a lot later in the morning, so you wake up at 6 thinking it's 10, and you're still tired, so yea,
I went to bed early.
